Racing Record & Form
Lump On Col is a consistent performer at the A2/A3 level. From 38 career starts, he has secured 6 wins (15.79% strike rate), but his recent performances suggest he is knocking on the door for number seven.
His form in the last month has been solid.
- Last Run (18th Nov): He showed great determination in an A2 contest, leading early and only being beaten by a neck in 28.66s.
- Highlight Win (24th Oct): He proved his class at this grade recently with a decisive victory, clocking a rapid 28.82s.
The Race Analysis: 11:43 A2 Grade (480m)
This race (Watch PGR on Sky Sports Racing Stakes) appears to set up perfectly for him.
- The Competition: Several rivals have questions to answer. Trooper McEvoy (Trap 1) is noted as “taking on better rivals,” while Blackhouse Peggy (Trap 5) also “needs to take a step forward.” With Slingshot Di (Trap 2) returning from a 3-week break, Lump On Col has the race fitness advantage.
- Tactics: He has shown he can trap and lead (Sectionals of 4.58s recently). If he can seize the early initiative again, he should have too much class for this field.
- Betting Strategy: Given his consistent profile, he looks a solid bet. For those looking to manage their bankroll professionally, consider applying the Kelly Criterion Staking Plan to optimize your stake on this selection.
Verdict: He is the established A2 dog in a field of risers and returners. The 28.82s win in October is the benchmark here.
